My name is Evan Roessle and I am the newest attorney at the Law Offices of Dussault & Zatir. I was born in New Bedford and was raised in Dartmouth, Massachusetts. I attended Dartmouth High School and upon graduation pursued my undergraduate degree in Political Science at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. I received my law degree from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth School of Law in 2018 and passed the Bar Exam in July 2018. While pursuing my academic endeavors I worked various labor jobs including positions with the New Bedford Housing Authority, the Cape Cod National Seashore, and Cintas Document Management. During this time, I learned the value of hard work and saw first had the toll that physically demanding employment has on the human body.
Following my amazing four years in Amherst, where I met many awesome friends and learned a great deal from the top-notch faculty, I remained unsure of what career path I envisioned for myself. As many young people do, I found a job and worked long hours to pay the bills. During this endeavor, I happened to develop a condition in my left knee related to many years participating in various athletics.
As a result, I had three knee surgeries in a single calendar year. One of those surgeries was significant and left me with a scar larger than that of a total knee replacement as well as life-long physical limitations. My athletic career, however lackluster, as well as my ability to provide for myself using my body was over.
It had always been a plan of mine to attend law school and become an attorney, but I had never committed to it. Until one day after my operation when I was staring at the straight brace wrapping the entirety of my left leg and I knew my old way of doing things would not be an option for me any longer. It was time for me to take action.
Fortunately, I was admitted to the Umass Dartmouth School of Law and began classes several months later. My hard work allowed me to graduate with honors and upon graduation and success on the Bar Exam, I was ready to put my new found abilities to the test. Attorney Dussault gave me the opportunity to practice at the Law Offices of Dussault & Zatir, something I will forever be thankful of. Looking for a Workers Comp lawyer? Contact Evan at 508-999-2000 .
Since becoming a part of the firm, the focus of my practice is in Workers’ Compensation. Workers’ Compensation exists to provide workers who are injured in the course of their employment with medical benefits and lost wages should the injury sustained prevent them from being able to return to work. It is vital that these legal protections for injured workers exist and it is my job to ensure that an individual receives everything they are entitled to under the law. I understand what it is like to be injured. I have been on the operating room table and know how a long recovery can make you feel, both physically and mentally. Each time I meet with my clients and see the struggles they are going through; I am reminded of my own experience.
For this reason, I understand the pain and frustration of recovering from an injury and will do my absolute best to ensure that any concerns are heard and acted upon in the most advantageous way while handling your Workers’ Compensation claim. Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and should our paths ever cross, know that I am here to help you get through your difficult times and come out on the other end in a better situation.
